Performance of different remote control devices for digital TV (DTV) receivers

19 May 2008

Early in 2008, BERR commissioned a study by i2 media research to compare the performance of different remote control devices for digital TV (DTV) receivers. Focusing on 3 remote controls that can operate the Copeland Digital Switchover Help Scheme Box, the study was designed to evaluate the extent to which the design of each is consistent with existing guidelines, and evaluate each remote control using objective measures of performance by groups of older and disabled people.

As part of the study an updated remote control design checklist was produced.

The study was commissioned to provide objective analysis of remote control design and use, particularly in relation to the Help Scheme.
